The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) has postponed its Annual General Meeting (AGM), Inaugural Conference and Exhibitions that was slated for the 10th -11th of September 2019 at Gweru Business Convention Centre.
In a telephone interview with the ZMF Chief Executive Officer Wellington Takavarasha said the postponement was due to the burial of the late National Hero Major General Trust Mugoba at the National Heroes Acre tomorrow.
President Emmerson who was the guest of honor at the conference will also be unavailable as he will attend Major General Mugoba’s burial.
” We postponed the event because there was nowhere the president could attend both the burial and the official opening of our event since he is our guest of honor,” said Takavarasha.
According to Takavarasha, the event is meant to gather together miners and stakeholders to align artisanal and small scale miners in the mainstream economy.
“The core of this event is designed to strategically gather together the artisanal, small scale miners, large scale miners, and key stakeholders to meet and connect with investors, service providers, stakeholders and policymakers and holistically align the artisanal and small scale miners in the mainstream economy in a most sustainable and rational manner,” he said.
