A man suspected to have been trying to steal electricity cables near Red and White mine in Mabhula area of Zvishavane was electrocuted to death today.
According to Murowa Ward Councilor Talent Muwandarikwa and other eyewitnesses, the electrocuted man who was identified as a well-known cattle rustler was found lying on the ground in possession of a bag with copper cables, a bolt cutter, and a knife.
Despite the current mandatory 10-year sentence for those convicted of vandalising and stealing the country’s power utility, Zesa’s infrastructure, offenders continue with illicit activities.
