Ddamulira Godfrey, a Ugandan man, faces life imprisonment under the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act following the discovery of 24 human skulls at his shrine. The police, led by spokesperson Patrick Onyango, reported that Godfrey, who claims to be a traditional healer, may have used the skulls for ritual sacrifices.

In addition to the skulls, animal remains and skins were found at the shrine. Police are continuing their search for additional human remains. Godfrey’s claims of being a traditional healer have been rejected by the Traditional Healers’ Association.

This case follows a similar discovery last month, when 17 human skulls were recovered from another shrine in Mpigi. Both incidents are linked to alleged ritualistic practices involving human sacrifice, driven by beliefs in magical charms for wealth and curses.

The disturbing findings highlight ongoing issues with ritualistic human sacrifices in the region.
