A 27-year-old man, Takudzwa Mugariri, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the brutal murder of his 94-year-old grandmother. Mugariri was arraigned before the High Court in Gweru on charges of murder after the incident that occurred on February 3, 2024.
According to court reports, Mugariri repeatedly struck his grandmother with a log, accusing her of witchcraft. The severe blows led to her death. Following a police report, Mugariri was arrested and later convicted.
