ZESA Holdings Executive Chairman, Dr. Sydney Gata, has announced that the completion of the Titan New Energy 720MW Waste-to-Energy Power Plant will bring an end to Zimbabwe’s persistent load-shedding.
Speaking with optimism, Dr. Gata described the project as a turning point for the country’s power sector.

“Once completed, this plant will mark the end of load-shedding,” he assured, offering hope to citizens grappling with frequent electricity outages.

The project, which converts waste into electricity, is a significant step in diversifying Zimbabwe’s energy sources and boosting the national grid’s capacity.

Dr. Gata also opened up about the personal toll of the power crisis, sharing how he has endured widespread criticism for the ongoing shortages. However, he remains steadfast in his commitment to addressing the nation’s energy challenges, seeing the waste-to-energy plant as a long-term solution to stabilize Zimbabwe’s electricity supply.
