A 42-year-old man from Triangle has been arraigned before the Chiredzi Magistrates’ Court on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. The harrowing incident allegedly occurred on 14 December 2024, when the girl was home alone.
The State alleges that the accused entered the house and found the girl asleep. He reportedly lifted her skirt, waking her up, and threatened to kill her if she screamed or resisted. The accused then allegedly raped her.
The victim later confided in her mother about the ordeal, leading to the filing of a police report and the subsequent arrest of the accused.
The accused has been remanded in custody and is set to reappear in court on 13 January 2025.
