The World Food Programme (WFP) in Zimbabwe is expanding its role beyond food distribution, focusing on long-term resilience and self-sufficiency for vulnerable communities.
WFP Zimbabwe Representative and Country, Director Barbara Clemens, emphasized the organization’s shift towards resilience-building programs designed to equip communities with the skills and resources needed to withstand future droughts and food insecurity.
Clemens also highlighted WFP’s commitment to uplifting marginalized groups, with a particular focus on youth empowerment, ensuring they have opportunities to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
