Diversified business empire Pote Holdings was honoured at the Great Dyke Awards 2025, walking away as first runner-up in the prestigious Great Dyke Business of the Year Award. The awards ceremony, held on Friday at Palawani Lakeworld Resort, celebrated excellence and innovation across the Great Dyke region’s key economic sectors.
Sponsored by Dandemutande, the Business of the Year Award recognised companies making a significant impact in mining, agriculture, retail, and other industries central to the development of the Great Dyke. Mimosa emerged as the overall winner, while River Valley Properties was named second runner-up.
Speaking after receiving the award, Pote Holdings Operations Manager Alfred Mabasa said the recognition was a testament to the group’s hard work and contribution to the regional economy.
“I’m very happy today to be first runner-up for the Great Dyke Business of the Year Award. It’s a testament of the good work that we are doing at Pote Holdings,” Bhasa said.
Founded by entrepreneur Anthony Clever Pote, Pote Holdings has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s most influential business groups with interests spanning transport, logistics, hospitality, mining, retail, construction, and agriculture. The group runs supermarkets, hotels, farming operations, mining ventures including red granite gold milling and quarry mining, and a range of other enterprises.
The Great Dyke Awards, which also recognised companies such as Pick n Pay (Retailer of the Year – Large Scale) and Magoche (Water and Energy Award), are aimed at acknowledging businesses that are driving growth and uplifting communities in the mineral-rich Great Dyke belt.
For Pote Holdings, the accolade reinforces its position as a key player in the region’s economic landscape.
