The Runde Rural District Council (RDC) has expressed excitement over its partnership with the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke, saying the event aligns with its mission to promote wellness, opportunity, and community empowerment in the Great Dyke region.

Speaking to Great Dyke News, Runde RDC Executive Officer for Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Armson Gwengo, said the council is proud to be part of an initiative that not only highlights the region’s economic potential but also supports disadvantaged learners.

“We are excited to be part of the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke, which showcases opportunity in the Great Dyke, promotes wellness, and channels proceeds towards uplifting gifted but less privileged students,” said Mr. Gwengo.

Runde RDC serves as the administrative authority for Zvishavane’s rural areas, focusing on infrastructure development, resource management, and sustainable growth. The council works alongside Zvishavane Town Council, which oversees the urban district.

The Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke, running from 6–8 November 2025, is a three-day, 328-kilometre cycling event from Selous to Zvishavane. The tour promotes community development and wellness while raising funds for the Gifted Children Foundation, which provides educational support to underprivileged learners in the Great Dyke.

Mr. Gwengo said such partnerships are crucial in promoting local development and nurturing future leaders.

“Initiatives like the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke inspire collective responsibility — they remind us that every community has a role to play in shaping a better future,” he added.
