Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Germany and several European countries, Alice Mashingaidze, says the Fruit Logistica trade fair opening tomorrow in Berlin presents a key opportunity for Zimbabwe to diversify and expand its agricultural exports.
Speaking ahead of the global event, Ambassador Mashingaidze said this marks the fifth time Zimbabwe has exhibited at Fruit Logistica, describing the continued participation as significant for the country’s economic trajectory.
She noted that Zimbabwe has already seen growth in trade statistics and business engagement with Germany, but stressed that there is potential to do more.
Ambassador Mashingaidze said the trade fair provides an important platform for Zimbabwean producers and exporters to secure strategic business partnerships, while also gathering critical market intelligence needed to access the wider European market.
Fruit Logistica attracts exhibitors from 151 countries, offering Zimbabwe exposure not only to Germany but to buyers and investors from across Europe and the rest of the world.
She added that beyond boosting exports, Zimbabwe is also using the platform to attract foreign direct investment into the agriculture sector, particularly in agro-processing and industrial development.
The ambassador expressed optimism that continued participation at Fruit Logistica will help Zimbabwe grow its agricultural exports and strengthen its presence in global markets.
