The Zimbabwe Republic Police has called on members of the public to find amicable ways to resolve disputes and not resort to violence.
This comes after an incident that happened in Shurugwi on Saturday where two illegal gold panners bludgeoned their colleague John Matendere to death with an axe while his wife watched in a dispute over US$40.
The incident happened during a premeditated night attack at Matendere’s home in Makwikwi village in Shurugwi.
Matendere was admitted at Gweru General Hospital where he died a few days later and two suspects are still at large after allegedly committing the crime.
Speaking to Great DykeNews 24, Midlands Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident urging members of the public to resolve their disputes amicably.
