Preparations for the Buy Zimbabwe 2019 Awards scheduled for 13 December 2019 at Robbie Mupawose Business Hub, Harare are underway with the organisers saying this year’s edition is bigger and better as compared to the previous years.
In a statement released today, Buy Zimbabwe said the 2019 awards will see the presentation of a research study on the perceptions of the market on locally produced goods..
“This year’s edition of the awards is going to be a double package as the Topline Research Solutions will unpack research findings on; ‘Market Perceptions towards Local Products: A 2019 status report on Consumers, Retailers, Government and Industry.
“The Awards will be held under the theme: ‘Building Excellent Local Brands: Unlocking Global Markets’.
“A regional speaker is scheduled to be the guest of honour during the awards. The Awards seeks to celebrate and honour the remarkable and outstanding roles played by individuals and local companies in rejuvenating the local economy, creating jobs, generating wealth and stirring national pride,” reads the statement.
“The awards have five categories namely; Buy Local Categories, Market side Categories, Sectorial Categories, Honorary Categories, and Grand Categories. All Buy Zimbabwe partners are therefore invited to identify categories they qualify,” reads part of the statement.
Buy Zimbabwe is a social enterprise at the forefront of advocating for a more viable, inclusive, sustainable and internally acceptable industry support system premised on incentives for increased value chain based local procurement and disincentives for the continued importation of finished products and services.
Buy Zimbabwe’s mandate is to promote, deepen and broaden the utilisation of locally sourced and produced resources to yield quality and globally competitive Zimbabwean brands for sustainable economic growth.
A number of Mining companies from the Great Dyke like Zimplats and Mimosa Mining Company participate during the Buy Zimbabwe awards every year.
