President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officially open the International Chromium Development Association Conference slated for the 7th to the 9th of May in Victoria Falls.
According to the Ministry of Mines, more than 250 international delegates from mining and related sectors will be in attendance at the Conference.
“As Zimbabwe has a significant resource in the chromium sector, with the second world’s largest reserve of chrome and a developing key industry participant, the ICDA chose to celebrate its significant milestone in Zimbabwe.
“More than 250 international delegates from mining and related sectors will be in attendance at the Conference,” the ministry said.
The ministry added that the event will see the promotion of the country’s mineral resources and create investment opportunities within the mining sector.
“The conference will highlight the importance of Zimbabwe in the chromium industry and will provide an opportunity to promote Zimbabwe’s rich mineral resources and the opportunity for development and investment in Zimbabwe’s mining sector.
“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde E.D Mnangagwa will officially open the conference on 08 May 2019,” they said.
In view of the importance of the ICDA conference, the mines ministry has embarked on a publicity program to ensure the full participation of relevant stakeholders.
So far a number of corporates in the mining sector have joined the publicity campaign with more expected to come on board as the event draws nearer.
