Buy Zimbabwe has revealed that the 2019 edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has provided a conducive business environment to campaign for enhanced local production of goods and import substitution as well as creating jobs among other initiatives.
According to Buy Zim, they also utilized the platform to meet their business partners as well as a networking platform for growth.
“The 2019 edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has provided a conducive business environment for Buy Zimbabwe to meet its business partners as well as giving local companies a platform to expand their brands.
“The ZITF conference which was held in Bulawayo from the 23rd up to the 27th of April 2019 was attended by the Buy Zimbabwe Marketing Manager, Mr. Gabriel Choga who got the opportunity to interact with representatives of Buy Zimbabwe’s partners.
“In line with the government’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income economy by 2030, Buy Zimbabwe utilized this platform to campaign for the production of goods in local industries to substitute products that are sourced from foreign markets, reduce the trade deficit and create job opportunities for local people,” Buy Zimbabwe said.
Meanwhile, Buy Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and other stakeholders are set to roll out a national Buy Local Campaign running under the theme; ‘Reviving the Local Industry through stakeholder Engagement, Awareness, and Participation.
According to the organizers, campaign which targets the public sector, the industry, and consumers is part of Buy Zimbabwe’s efforts to contribute positive in rebuilding the local industry for economic growth, wealth and job creation.
