Green Fuel coach Taurai Mangwiro has expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness for the upcoming Premiership season, emphasizing the team’s competitive edge following key acquisitions.
Speaking to Great Dyke NewsObert Sithole, Mangwiro confirmed the departure of several players, including goalkeepers Tendai Chirara and Tapuwa Chilenga, defender Goriati, midfielders Learnmore Mlambo and Bruno Mutigo who returned to his parent club, Ngezi Platinum Stars — as well as strikers Donald Ngoma the club
s top goal scorer and James Ngulube.
To reinforce the squad, GreenFuel brought in three goalkeepers: Ashley Reynards, Victor Machope, and Frank Kuchinei. The club also signed the Chikwende brothers — Perfect (striker) and Emmanuel (defender), alongside midfielder Marlon Mushonga from Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Other arrivals include defender Robert Paramba (Bulawayo Chiefs), defender Colin Mujuru and midfielder Ronald Chitiyo (Nyasa Bullets), and striker Simba Manyoni. The team also secured local talents Kibra Mhlanga and Biven Chidzongore for development.
Looking ahead to the first five league matches, GreenFuel will play three home games against CAPS United, Highlanders, and Bikita Minerals, while facing Ngezi Platinum Stars and Yadah FC away. Mangwiro stressed the importance of a strong start, stating, “A good start always makes a good ending.”
