The government has recently acquired new medical equipment to enhance the quality of healthcare services in the Midlands province, aligning with President Mnangagwa’s vision of transforming the country into an upper middle-income economy by 2030. The procured equipment includes ambulances, anaesthetic and X-ray machines, and utility motor vehicles aimed at strengthening the referral system and reducing health disparities.

In a meeting with the Minister of State for Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Owen Ncube, and local health workers, Health and Child Care Minister, Dr Douglas Mombeshora, disclosed that the distribution of the equipment and ambulances would be based on pressing needs and equity considerations.

Among the distributed items, an anaesthetic machine has been allocated to Mvuma District Hospital, two ambulances for deployment by the provincial medical director, and an X-ray machine to be placed where needed. The province is also set to receive three more utility vehicles.
