The High Court has quashed all criminal charges against opposition activist Job Sikhala. Sikhala had been accused of inciting violence following the death of Moreblessing Ali and publishing falsehoods. With the charges dropped, Sikhala now stands without a single conviction.
Sikhala’s legal team has announced their intention to sue the state for the time he spent in jail. According to his lawyers, they have been instructed to pursue legal action against the state, claiming wrongful persecution.
Sikhala himself has stated that he was targeted by the state and is determined to seek justice.
