Just In: Govt Bans All Public Gatherings.

Government has banned all public gatherings including churches except for funerals which are limited to 30 people.


Addressing the media in the capital today, Vice President CGDN Chiwenga who is also the Minister of Health and Childcare said all conferences and meetings must be held virtually .

  • Mandatory wearing of mask
  • Maintaining social and physical distance
  • Washing of Hands frequently
  • With regards to gatherings, all gatherings are banned except funerals limited to 30 people.
  • Conferences and meetings to be held virtually
  • Business hours shall be 8am to 6pm
    -Beerhalls and nightclubs remain closed.
  • Bottle Stores to operate from 10am to 4pm
  • Fast foods outlets will serve take aways only
  • Tobbaco auction floors, to operate under monitored regulations. Employees will be required to have a 2 weeks valid Covid19 test certificate. All companies to decongest their work places by 50% except for essential services.
    Vending around tobacco auction floors will be banned.
  • Mandatory testing of all incoming people from Hotspot countries at their own cost.

    E. Targeted Lockdowns will be effected.
