Mambo Jupiter Foundation says it is committed to combating drug and substance. The foundation is set to organize an academic soccer tournament in Zvishavane, with the event scheduled to unfold at the sports facilities of Gresham Primary School.
In a recent interview Ivy Akudzweishe Chigiya, the Project and Event Director said the primary objective of this initiative is to divert the attention of young individuals away from engaging in illicit drug activities by providing them with a constructive outlet for their time. She stressed the importance of educating the youth about the perils and detrimental effects associated with drug abuse, particularly emphasizing the adverse impact on mental health.
Chigiya expressed her vision for the tournament, highlighting the intention to make it engaging and captivating for the youth. The goal is to attract a significant number of participants, encouraging them to align themselves with the foundation’s mission and subsequently deterring them from loitering on the streets.
The Mambo Jupiter Foundation aims to instill a sense of discipline among the youth by fostering an environment that discourages drug use. Chigiya underscored the foundation’s belief that by offering compelling opportunities, such as the chance to travel and play abroad, they can persuade young individuals to remain connected and compliant with the academy’s rules and regulations, particularly those prohibiting the consumption of substances like weed and other drugs.
