A 37-year-old man, Pardon Home, has been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of culpable homicide. The High Court, sitting in Gweru, delivered the verdict following the tragic events of March 9, 2022, which resulted in the death of a patron at Safari Night Club in Zvishavane.
According to court proceedings, Home was involved in a heated argument with the deceased over a bottle of beer at the Four Miles Business Centre. The argument escalated, and the two men took their fight outside the bar. During the altercation, Home withdrew a sharp object from his pocket and stabbed the deceased multiple times on his head and arms.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on March 10, 2022.
Home was initially sentenced to eight years in prison, with three years suspended. He will now serve five years behind bars.
