Authorities in Zvishavane have received a resounding call to strengthen collaboration with the Zimbabwe Republic Police and local authorities to address the rising issue of illegal mining. Concerns have been raised regarding the vandalization of property and the havoc caused by illegal miners in various communities in the district.

In an exclusive interview with the Great Dyke News, Hon. Senator Larry Mavhima, the Midlands Minister for State Affairs and Devolution, announced an unequivocal stance against illegal miners, declaring war on their activities. Mavhima emphasized that while mining is a viable economic activity, it must be conducted within the confines of the law.

The minister challenged mining authorities to facilitate the acquisition of mining permits for individuals who are willing to adhere to established rules and regulations.
