The Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) says some of its members are being stigmatised in the wake of increased covid-19 cases amongst health workers and some have been served with eviction orders by their landlords.
This comes after a number of nurses and doctors have tested for Covid-19 around the country.
ZINA President Enoch Dongo said the association has received a number of cases where nurses especially those that have tested covid-19 positive are being targetted.
He added that the situation should be a wake-up call to the government on the plight of health workers.
To date, Zimbabwe has recorded 3092 cases of the pandemic with 53 deaths and 924 recoveries.
Last week ZINA said at least 200 health workers had tested covid-19 positive with 25 cases recorded at Zvishavane District Hospital.
