President Emerson Mnangagwa has spotlighted a pressing issue within Zimbabwe’s mining sector: resource leakages. He issued a direct challenge to mining firms, emphasizing the critical need to address these leakages for the collective benefit of the nation and investors alike.
The President was speaking after officially commissioning the Bikita Minerals Spodumene and Petalite processing plant.
He commended Sinomine Resource Group for taking heed of Government’s call for beneficiation and value addition of lithium ores by investing over US$ 300 million into the various stages of the project.
