The ruling, ZANU PF has reaffirmed that its Resolution Number 1 calling for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to extend his term until 2030 stands as the official Party position ahead of the forthcoming 22nd National People’s Conference.
The Party’s Director of Information and Publicity, Farai Marapira, said the resolution reflects the collective will of the people and confidence in President Mnangagwa’s leadership.
“This is an official Party position. The resolution to extend President Mnangagwa’s leadership until 2030 was adopted following broad consultations across our structures,” said Marapira. “We are confident it will be implemented because the President is a listening leader who always acts in accordance with the people’s wishes.”
He added that the Party’s grassroots members had repeatedly expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved under the Second Republic, particularly in areas of infrastructure development, economic stability, and rural industrialization.
“President Mnangagwa has shown visionary leadership. His policies have brought tangible development, and the people have spoken — they want continuity,” he said.
The 22nd National People’s Conference, expected to draw delegates from across all provinces, will review the Party’s achievements, consolidate resolutions, and set the strategic tone for the next phase of Zimbabwe’s development under the Second Republic.
