Kwekwe police have arrested three suspects in an ongoing crackdown on smuggling, recovering 14 bales of second-hand goods from two buses owned by Triptrans.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the suspects, identified as Ndlovu Eliaza (35), Sevenzayi Tinashe (31), and Dozva Nonita (42), were charged under Section 38(1) of the Customs and Excise Act, Chapter 23:02. They paid fines amounting to USD $800, ZIG 1,812, and ZIG 6,000, respectively.
He highlighted that the anti-smuggling operation, launched in December 2024, is being led by the Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence, and the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority.
