In anticipation of the upcoming 2023-24 agricultural season, agriculture experts are strongly advising farmers to accelerate their preparations in order to enhance their prospects for a successful harvest. Mrs. Agnes Ndoro, Agritex Officer for the Mashonaland West region, has provided valuable guidance for farmers as part of their preparatory efforts.
She recommends the timely cutting and burning of straw, corn stalks, and remnants from previous crops such as tobacco and cotton. This proactive approach aims to mitigate the risk of carrying diseases from one season to the next, ultimately ensuring healthier and more productive crops.
