Police in Mahusekwa have arrested a couple, Colleen Munemo (30) and Shepherd Mugava (29), in connection with the murder of their six-month-old child, Earth Mugava. The tragic incident occurred at Landos Business Centre in Chihota on September 19, 2024.
It is alleged that during a domestic altercation, the child was thrown to the ground, resulting in fatal injuries. The couple initially reported to the police that the child had fallen from a bed, but further investigations revealed inconsistencies in their story, leading to their arrest.
Meanwhile, police in Rushinga are investigating a separate case of murder in Manyozo Village, where 28-year-old Grace Mureza was found decapitated on September 22, 2024. Law enforcement authorities have launched a manhunt for her husband, David Meja, who is wanted in connection with the crime.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in these investigations.
