Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan Commends Zimbabwe’s Progress in Ensuring Transparent Elections SA warns local debts hampering energy response

The African Union-Comesa election observer mission, led by former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, has lauded Zimbabwe for its significant strides towards conducting free and transparent elections. The observation team expressed their commendation during a meeting with Ambassador James Manzou, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, where they presented their preliminary observations.
Former President Jonathan praised Zimbabwe’s efforts in facilitating a transparent electoral process that allows international observers to play an active role. Acknowledging the unique challenges that often accompany elections in Africa, especially within the sub-Saharan region, he emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in the democratic process.
