Authorities in Mberengwa have welcomed the recent rains, highlighting their positive impact on agriculture and livestock. While the downpours caused destruction in some areas, local leaders say the rainfall has significantly boosted farming prospects and improved water availability for both humans and animals.

Mberengwa District Development Coordinator (DDC) Vafias Hlabati noted that the rains have replenished water sources, which is critical for sustaining agricultural activities.

Livestock farmers in the drought-prone district are particularly relieved, as the rains have rejuvenated pastures, reducing the risk of cattle losses due to water shortages and poor grazing conditions.

Hlabati emphasized the importance of balancing the benefits of rainfall with preparedness for extreme weather, urging communities to safeguard their homes and infrastructure against potential flooding.
