Russia has provided the Republic of the Congo with a mobile laboratory to strengthen infectious disease detection and monitoring. The handover ceremony was attended by Congo’s Health Minister Jean Rosaire Ibara and Russian Ambassador Ilyas Iskandarov.
The lab will operate in remote epidemic hotspots, and Congolese specialists will receive training for its use. This follows previous Russian support, including mpox diagnostic tests and training courses. Russia and Congo also plan to establish a joint infectious disease research lab.
