In South Africa, Kelly Smith is on trial for allegedly orchestrating the abduction of her six-year-old daughter, Joshlin, who vanished in February last year. Smith, along with her boyfriend Jacquen Appollis and friend Steveno van Rhyn, has pleaded not guilty to charges of human trafficking and kidnapping.

Despite a high-profile search, Joshlin remains missing. Prosecutors accuse Smith of selling or exchanging her daughter and lying about the disappearance. The trial, running until 28 March, is being held in Saldanha Bay to allow public access.
