YAFM will on Tuesday the 30th of March 2021, host a virtual conference on covid-19 running under the theme ‘Demystifying covid-19 vaccination’.
The conference will be broadcast on YAFM and streamed on the station’s Facebook page as well as on the pages of broadcast partners Sly Media and 263 Chat.
It is part of a series by the multimedia house to beat covid-19 and galvanise communities to take the necessary action to ensure success in the fight against the pandemic.
YAFM General Manager Tawanda Gudhlangah said as communicators they seek to lead in engaging their audiences on topical issues such as the current mass vaccination drive.
“We have observed that there is an information gap in the current vaccination roll-out programme, so we have invited government officials and medical experts to explain the programme and address concerns that communities may have.
“Europe and other parts of the world have already entered the third wave and with winter fast approaching, citizens need validated information to make the right choices now, instead of depending on scientifically unsound opinions. So we want the science to speak for itself, that why we have a panel top heavy with medical scientists,” he said.
Chief coordinator national covid-19 response Dr Agnes Mahomva is the guest of honour while other medical experts including Midlands Provincial Medical Director Dr. Reginald Mhene and Midlands State University medical expert Dr Wilson Mupariwa will be part of the panel.
Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Senator Larry Mavhima has also confirmed his participation in the virtual conference.
