Cholera Cases Surge in Zvishavane, Urgent Hygiene Measures Emphasized

Cholera cases in Zvishavane have now passed the 20 mark with 22 cases reported so far, health authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and practice good hygiene.
Speaking to Great Dyke News Zvishavane Health Promotion Officer Rumbidzai Chinhara said so far, the diarrheal disease has claimed two live while three patients are known to have recovered.
In the week Media, Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Jenfan Muswere said that during the period 16th November, 2023 to 23rd November, 2023 there were 1 744 new suspected cholera cases reported compared to 1 259 reported the previous week.
And indicated that Zvishavane and Mbire were the new districts that reported cases during this period.
He said Cabinet has reiterated that installation of hand washing and sanitation devices in all public places be expedited.
